Is there a difference between an antique piece and an estate piece of jewelry?
Yes, there might be. An antique piece is associated with a specific time period. For example an antique Art Deco piece will date around 1920-30's. An estate piece is something that was acquired through an estate collection and may or may not be antique. An estate piece of jewelry often has age associated with it, but can also be more contemporary.
I am interested in purchasing one of your antique diamond rings to use as our wedding ring, is it too fragile to be used as such?
When considering an antique piece, keep in mind that it has already proven to be be very durable as it has lasted many decades of use. In general, a beautifully made piece in precious stones and metals will last you many decades and be a future heirloom to be passed down in your family. I make certain that the pieces that I offer are in good overall condition and all stones are secure before placing them out for sale. It is often the case that a well made antique or vintage piece will serve you better than a newer piece that was mass produced today.
Do you have layaway or any kind of payment plan available?
I am happy to work with you when I can. Everything is on a case by case, piece by piece basis. In general items over $500 can be put on a short-term payment schedule. Please send me an email to ask as I am always happy to hear from you!
